CMSCWD receives 2 EPA 319 grants from MPCA

The Watershed District has received 2 grants through the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) funded by the EPA to assist with water quality projects in the District.  The first will be directed toward reconstructing a severly eroding ravine in Marine on St. Croix and repairing damage to a downstream wetland.  The Minnesota Department of Transportation has also agreed to contribute $50,000 toward the project since runoff from Highway 95 is a contributor of stormwater to the problem.

The second grant with be used to supplement current projects directed toward improving water quality in Goose Lake and fund additional projects in the Goose Lake watershed which is currently listed as "impaired" by the EPA.  Both projects should begin construction by the fall of 2018.
