Reducing Sediment and Phosphorus Discharges to Big Carnelian Lake

Working in partnership with private landowners and May Township this project will install a 10,000 square foot bioretention basin treating over 32 acres of runoff and divert drainage from 133rd discharging down a ravine. In total the project will reduce phosphorus by 13.6 lbs. per year to Big Carnelian Lake. It will also install 1,651 linear feet of stormwater piping, 13 stormwater inlets, and 700 cubic yards of traprock road resurfacing to collect and convey stormwater runoff to the bioretention basin.
